Noise Abatement Compliance

Identify Noise Sources

When it comes to noise abatement compliance, we at Acoustical Systems Inc. are happy to walk you through the more technical aspects of this service. We want you to feel confident in the service you are receiving and fully understand how our process works. Here we explain the process step by step in an easy-to-follow breakdown.

The individual noise sources prompting the complaints must be isolated in order to determine the component each adds to the overall noise level at each location under study. This is determined through several methods including study of the 1/1 and 1/3 octave bands and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) sound pressure level measurements to determine the frequency profile of each potential noise source. Sound decay vs. distance relationships, sound wave propagation and directional characteristics, and atmospheric condition effects are among the engineering considerations applied to fully understand the scope of the noise problem and to produce an effective noise abatement solution. Through these complex tests and scans, we can compile the necessary information for your noise abatement plan.

Report and Noise Abatement Plan

A final report of the results will include a prioritized noise abatement plan that identifies the primary noise sources, recommended engineering controls, implementation cost estimates, and predicted noise reduction.

Post Implementation Community Noise Survey

Once noise abatement is implemented, ASI can measure the actual noise levels to verify the prediction in the final report and ensure that the result is within the noise abatement compliance range. If additional checks are necessary in the future as conditions change, make sure to contact us about our additional noise compliance services. Whatever your acoustical needs, Acoustical Systems Inc. is happy to help you with all your acoustical testing.
